stuff you’ll need: 
100% merino wool, worsted weight 
1 skein of black
1 skein of grey 
1 hook size 7/4.5mm 
tapestry needle

gauge 
16 stitches and 12 rows = 4” (10cm) in half double crochet with size a 7/ 4.5mm hook.

instructions 

cuff: in black, and leaving a long tail to finish with, ch 10, turn. 
row 1: crocheting in back loops only, *sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across [9 sts]. ch 1, turn*. 
rows 2 – 35: repeat from * to *. 36 rows total.
join with sl st to first chain, forming a circular cuff. 
attach grey yarn. 

arm: 
rnd 1: in grey, Ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc). Hdc in the ends of rows 2 – 41 (42 hdcs total). join with sl st to top of first chain. 
rnds 2 – 4: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. join with sl st to first chain. 
rnds 5 - 8: change to black, Ch 2. hdc in each st around. join with sl st to first chain.
rnds 9 – 12: in grey, Ch 2. hdc in each st around. join with sl st to first chain.
rnds 13 - 16: in black, Ch 2. hdc in each st around. join with sl st to first chain. 
rnds 17 – 20: in grey, Ch 2, hdc in each st around. join with sl st to first chain. 
rnds 21 - 28: in black, Ch 2. hdc in each st around. join with sl st to first chain. 
rnd 29 (thumb round): in black, ch 2. hdc in next stitch. ch 6. skip next 4 hdcs, hdc in next st, and in each st around. join with sl st to first chain.
